The IAVS, SAFRIreland and NARA are holding a demonstration outside the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) building at Earlsfort Terrace this coming World Day for Animals in Laboratories. We will begin at 12:00 outside the HPRA for a 45 minute demonstration, then continue on to Dáil Éireann for 13:00.
The HPRA have the responsibility for regulating animal experiments in Ireland. We will be highlighting the fact that nearly 70% of all animal experiments in 2021 were due to extremely cruel poisoning tests of botox-type products. The government’s licensing of these experiments shows it gives no meaningful regard to the welfare of the animals. We call on the government to set a deadline for the cessation of animal botox tests, and incentivise botox producers to invest in non-animal replacement tests.
Please join us to commemorate World Day For Animals In Laboratories. If you can't make it to the demo, please share this event with friends and family.
Thank you for your support!
